SÍDR {PRIVACY}

Last updated: 2026-07-01

This Privacy Policy describes how Sidr (the App) handles information.

Summary

The App uses iCloud / CloudKit for syncing and social features. The App may request access to Photos so you can choose a background image. The App may request permission for Notifications (local notifications) to alert you about important updates. The App does not sell your data and does not use data for advertising tracking.

Information the App Processes

iCloud / CloudKit (feature functionality)

If you are signed into iCloud, the App stores and syncs data through CloudKit, which may include:

In‑app identifier (a numeric user ID used inside the App). Social features (for example, comments you write on verses, likes you add on verses, verses you add to your own collection)

This data is used to provide the App’s core functionality (sync, likes, comments, collections, khatmah).

Moderation (e.g., profanity filtering in comments).

Photos (optional)

If you choose to add a photo, the App processes the image you select and stores it on your device for display in the App.

Notifications (optional)

If you allow notifications, the App may schedule local notifications (for example, countdown, reminders and confirmations).

Home Screen Widget (optional)

If you add the widget, it stores the widget information locally (via the app group) to function on the Home Screen. It does not require additional permissions.

Watch Companion App (optional)

If you add the watch app, it stores the watch information locally (via the app group) to function on the Watch Screen. It does not require additional permissions.

Data Sharing

The App uses CloudKit as the backend for syncing and shared features. Data stored in CloudKit is processed and stored by Apple as part of iCloud/CloudKit.

The App does not share data with third‑party advertisers.

Data Retention

Local data is stored on your device to preserve progress and settings (for example, last read position, counters, bookmarks, scheduled reminder state) including your selected photo and is removed when you delete the photo or delete App. CloudKit data is retained as needed to provide app functionality (for example, khatmah count and related sync values). Other CloudKit data retention may depend on Apple iCloud behavior and the App’s CloudKit records.

Your Choice

You can change notification permissions in iOS Settings. You can change photo permissions in iOS Settings. You can disable iCloud for the App in iOS Settings to stop CloudKit syncing.
